When I met Kush Arora about a year and 1/2 ago (Feb 2006), he was already well known in the South Asian market. His music strikes me as an organic mashup of Bhangra and Dancehall. Further, I have always maintained that Dancehall's roots are firmly grounded within Bhangra.
With his latest release he has expanded more into the Electronica vibe, while still maintaining his signature style; and his name is growing like crazy.
Thanks to this album we have achieved a bit more notoriety on the BBC radio shows, most notably Mary Ann Hobbs' show, which is nothing short of an honor.
Kush is quite a business man also, and has arranged for several of his own distribution deals.. so the album, and the emcees on it are everywhere. Big Ups to Juakali for that # 12 cut... Hot like FYAAHH.
