Montreal Jazz Festival... Appearances This Weekend
24 June
2008

Montreal Jazz Festival
This weekend (Sat. June 28) I will be returning to Montreal to take part in the Jazz Festival, alongside NinjaTune's Ghislain Poirier.

Also on stage will be MCs Face-T, and Nik Myo. We will be performing selections from Ghislain's album "No Ground Under".

The show is actually a Double Bill with none other than De La Soul, so it should make for an interesting evening :o)

Montreal Jazz Fest Official Site

As a serious De La Soul fan from day one, and also having met them while doing the previous version of Perception2020, it's great to now be working with them in the capacity of an artist. Like I have said on MySpace (probably too much)

valida... you get the point

De La Soul, Eye Know

subtlety... fusion... innovation...

Steely Dan: Peg (mixed with) Otis Redding: Dock Of The Bay......! Progressive lyrics (even now) make this one a timeless classic.

Moving... Right ... Along...

More on XLR8R..!

Maaan I have to say thanks again for the press...! They have decided to run the full magazine article on their website. It appears for the time being on the home page, but this is the permalink:

http://www.xlr8r.com/features/2008/06/mc-zulu-rebel-reason

They have also featured a song I did with Kush Arora as a free mp3 download.. Lose Control is one of those songs where I said...
"I am not sure what the reaction will be"...because it is sung (and produced) in an experimental fashion. They touch on that in the article above...

You get the idea that I am not a Rapper NOR a hardcore Reggae singer. I am more interested in creating things you've never heard, rather than sticking to a given format.

Anyway, download the song here:

If you are so inclined please vote for it :o)

Guilt By Association
I am, it would seem, little more than a lyrical mercenary... a hired gun
who will come thru and blaze your tracks. When you have a show, fly me out. Deposit the specified amount of funds into my unmarked accounts in the Caymans, and I will commit musical murderation... live and direct.

I will then fade back to my obscure corner of suburbia, until my skills are once again called upon.

With all that, I am saying I am NOT claiming to be signed to any label in particular... There are just a BUNCH of labels working with a BUNCH of my songs. They are listed as affiliates. Take from that what you may.

Shouts Go Out To:

Fat Planet

I have learned a great deal about electronic music in general from reading this blog... This includes early feedback on moves I was trying to make way back when..

For Example: Once I did a Justin Timberlake remix, and KNEW I would be lambasted for it... worked out well tho. After they sent it out thru the blogosphere, it became a mashup introduction of sorts, to everyone else.

From the Canadian "true school" of Hip-Hop... another one of Ghislain Poirier's featured Killas... the Emcee who can freestyle in 3 languages, rap faster than me, and does 16 bars without taking a breath...(just try it)... and STILL doesn't drive.lol... Congratulations on getting some overdue respecK on MTV,,,, Canada exclusive, but MTV nonetheless...
