Perception2020 ?
ZULU from Perception2020
Perception2020.com Becomes ZuluMusic.Net

They knew all along, I was up to something.
I used to be out at their concerts, camera in tow.. performers / promoters treating me like Willie Bobo, trying to make me SWEAT to get the interview. lol..., but I had a plan.

I learned the music industry pretty well, and got acquainted with tons of people to help me with my endeavors... When we met, it was like "call me ZULU".

But I never told them ZULU is more musician than camera man. They would have felt threatened.

You just need something to rise above the crop. So I created my own publicity engine, and even had several employees.

Perception2020 photographers, DJs and writers were all over the concert scene in Chicago, and beyond, at one point. We specialized in entertainment news, mostly urban related.

I would get free movie passes and albums galore to do my reviews, and also lots of product samples. It was all posted right here.

If you went into a club in the midwest, you might hear a DJ shouting out Perception2020.com, ... we had similar arrangements with DJs worldwide, thanks to a few dollars being sent to Jeff McCluskey and associates, and of course.. the internet.

So how does one monetize a situation like that?

We sent thousands of flyers everywhere, we dropped mixtapes for a while (Especially DJ Journey), sold T-Shirts, and even ran a "Designer Bling-Bling" swap-meet hustle I learned from VAL (anonymous shout out).

Don't laugh... that made the most $$ of all ....Name belt buckles, fake ice Jesus pieces, rings, red / blue blink lights... Dog Tags... you've probably still got yours.

Then a "promoter" hit me up with a party idea; That was the beginning of the end. Because I was also recording, I couldn't watch him.

The first party thrown behind all this.... complete and utter disaster.

The nice venue, The professional radio spots, The best concept........ and then, the wickedest flyers ever designed.... sitting in a box in the back of the "promoter's" truck.....

So no more of that partnership B.S., and no more public parties

As long as an event is private, you can have casino games, dancers, etc. right?? so that's where I MAY HAVE taken it... I won't say for sure.

But I CAN say... No matter WHAT you tell them... There are always:
> Dancers who think they can sell more than a lap dance.
> Card dealers who think they can skim your winnings.
> Posers (you never met) who think they can get into the Nas concert, using fake credentials (you never gave them)....

... and then the informers told the police.

What ever happened to Perception2020?
I guess if you ever want to know the full story, keep watching, because the story is now being corrected and re-written.
